[00:00:00] Do you ever feel like life is trying to knock you down? [00:00:04] Meet Mr. Pugpus here. No matter how hard he gets hit, he always bounces back. And this is what your Sanity library is about. Hello and welcome to your sanity library. Today I want to introduce the project and its purpose. Simply put, your Sanity library is a practical aid on your journey to happiness. Or homeless, if you prefer. It's about empowering you by your own means. A way to remain sane, as the name suggests. Balanced and unshakable, even when life goes completely off the rails. Think of it like Mr. Plathus that I introduced to you earlier. He's okay. No worries. He's right here. No matter how hard he gets hit, he always bounces back to his center of gravity. This journey is about feeling good, safe and at home within yourself. Be sure about your own center of gravity you can always safely bounce to. Because to me, that's what happiness and wholeness truly are. And once I discovered my old metaphorical center of gravity, my life significantly changed for the better. Clearly. Sounds great, right? But how do we get there? I'm glad you asked. To feel comfortable within ourselves, we need to know who we are and embrace it and shine it into the world. If that sounds scary or if you're thinking, but I know exactly who I am. Let me introduce you to Queenie for the sake of this demonstration. Queenie represents a human, maybe even you. You were born with a set of unique gifts, features, and general awesomeness represented here by Queenie's light. Now, mind you, Queenie is far less original than you. Is mass produced. You one of the kind, absolutely unique. Here you are shining your metaphorical light. But then life happens. Maybe your expression of emotions, like crying or throwing a ton drove your mom up to work. Maybe she lost her temper and snapped at you. And because you were just a little Twinkie that scared you. As tiny humans, we quickly learn that in order to stay safe, we sometimes have to trade authenticity for acceptance and safety. If you want to dive deeper into this, I recommend looking up Gabor Mate's work. I'm not making this up. It's backed by research. At some point, we all learn that repeatedly upsetting our caregivers isn't a great survival strategy. So being the smart little animals that we are, we do this. [00:02:54] We hide part of ourselves that seem to cause problems. And at that moment, it's actually a brilliant move. It keeps us safe. There is a disadvantage, though. By covering our life, we disconnect from it too. As life goes on, we keep adding More layers. Maybe for survival, maybe later on to conform, to fit in, to please others. Whatever happens in your life and these layers are of different thickness and persistence. Now, you can blame your parents, society, or whoever you think caused this. But my recommended strategy, Take responsibility. Roll up your sleeves. Take your life into your own hands like the boss you are and and start digging up that precious line that you buried. Because now you are not a helpless little Twinkie anymore. You are grown. You're no longer dependent on your caregivers for survival. Your authenticity no longer threatens your safety. Not all layers are bad, by the way, Especially if you still want to function in society. We are social creatures after all. But that's another story. Now if you're thinking but I don't have any light, I'm not important. I have nothing to offer the world. Let me slap you metaphorically. We all have a piece of the puzzle. Henry Van Dyke apparently. [00:04:19] Use what talents you possess. The woods would be very silent if no birds sang. Except those that sang best. There are no small talents, no insignificant people, no unworthy lights. Everybody can cook tribute to the collective good pipes. And if I may be dramatic to the rise of humanity, with everything happening in the world now, you might sarcastically ask everybody. Really? Even certain orange tinted spaceship launching ketamine enthusiast billionaires. [00:04:52] Oh well, here's the thing. Most people don't realize their true value because it's buried under layers. As we demonstrated with Pro Twinkie earlier. Some people belittle themselves to fit in. I can relate to that. I was guilty of this also in the past. Others, like certain billionaires, need to belittle others in order to feel bigger. But once you learn to appreciate yourself for who you actually are, not who your parents wanted you to be, not what society calls successful, you'll understand that you are not bad, better than others, and they are not better than you. Deep down, we're all awesome, just at different stages of the journey. Some people sadly might not complete the journey in one lifetime. [00:05:41] So my goal to help you discover your true self. What you do with that, that's your core. On the practical side of the project, we'll start with practices for Pay attention. Reflect on your body. Explore the power of curiosity. Consider how death changes our perspective. Dive into external validation, work through feelings, focus on gratitude, and so on. Now you see why it's called your sanity library, right? Each week we'll focus on one letter. Your sanity library will have two types of weekly longer video on YouTube, always under 10 minutes and then daily about one minute long videos for reminders or for those who prefer fast content so you can build a habit of dedicating at least one minute a day to yourself. I've been on this self discovery journey for a while. I've gathered puzzle pieces and packaged them into bite sized bits. Perfect for today's fast paced world but also ideal for lasting change. I'll share some of my own aha moments, insights from longer trainings and yes, a little cherry picking of the good stuff. Not every challenge might be for you. Some will feel like common sense. Others might hit you right in the gut. Either way, I'd love to hear about it. I promise to keep things brief, simple and to the point. I value your time as much as I value mine. If you ever want to dig deeper into a topic, I'll be happy to recommend resources or you can go down your own rabbit hole. My job is to open doors to give you a sneak peek. Whether you step through. That's up to you. And now a taste. The very first little exercise in your sanity library. We will start slow and you will practice this the whole week. One minute every day. See how easy it can be to have some fluffy quality time with yourself. Your challenge is take one minute for yourself each day this week and just sit with the idea that there is something unique inside you. Maybe you already sense it, maybe you don't quite believe it yet. You're wrong. But take your time. Just consider the possibility. That's step one on your journey. I won't promise that this journey will always be easy. It won't. But I will bet you anything that you will not want to go back. Your ability to change anything. Everything starts here. And I'll be thrilled to be your companion. If you made it this far in the video, something about this must resonate. I'm not here to tell you that you're broken, because you're not. But sometimes we all have blind spots that keep us from seeing our own worth. And I truly believe that the more people recognize their value, the better life gets. And not just for them, but for all of us. If that speaks to you, I'd love you to stick around. I'll see you on the journey. Subscribe and follow.
